Sungmin Ryou — a software engineer who builds all kinds of things.

Hi, I’m Sungmin Ryou, a software engineer who loves building all kinds of things that actually work! I’m currently working as a Software Engineer at LY Corporation in Tokyo. Beyond software, I’m always curious about hardware and math too.

I just love making things in general, so I cook a lot — especially Korean food, in all kinds of variety. With some help from my parents, I even make my own kimchi. I’ve recently tried my hand at Western cooking too, like salmon confit, but I always find it trickier than Korean dishes.

In software, I used to love competitive programming — I liked being able to see my skill reflected in a concrete metric. These days, with AI taking over, it feels like that’s become a bit less relevant, which is a little disappointing. Keeping up with the trend, I’m currently digging into AI and DevOps.
